My hero doesn't wear a cape

Nelson dashed out to the path, his heart pounding with anticipation, eagerly awaiting Cora's arrival. As he looked at his watch, his heart raced, and a sense of unease washed over him. Cora was punctual, and he should have glimpsed her already. Nelson's ears perked up as he heard a piercing scream, causing him to sprint in its direction. He approached and witnessed someone grappling with all their might to keep Cora pinned beneath them. Nelson lunged at him like an angry bull, delivering a powerful tackle that sent him sprawling, dislodging him from Cora. The attacker concealed his face with a stocking and a snug wool cap. Nelson got a few punches on him before he escaped, darting through the dense woods.

before he escaped, darting through the dense woods.

“Nelson?” Cora sat up, tears streamed down her face. She gasps for breath.

Without hesitation, Nelson sprinted to Cora's side, his heart pounding in his chest. “Are you all right? Is anything broken?” He looks her over, feeling her legs and arms.

“Nelson?” she hugs him, relieved that he was there to stop her attacker from inflicting any further pain on her.

“It’s okay. You’re all right now. No one’s going to hurt you,” Nelson said, taking her into his arms.

“Who was that?” she looked in the direction the attacker took.

“I don’t know. I didn’t get to see his face,” Nelson said, dusting Cora off. Nelson thought about the attacker. There was something very familiar about him. He shuddered as his mind reflected on seeing the man had a full erection. The attackers’ intentions were apparent. Nelson stood as he considered what other ways he could protect Cora without him being around her.

“How did you know?” Cora looks into his eyes, pulling him away from his thoughts.

“I went to see your dad, and your mom gave me...” Nelson pauses as he pulled a letter out of his back pocket. “This,” he hands it to Cora.

“What is—oh yeah! Real important! A coupon?” Cora slumps her shoulders with an entertained giggle. “My mom is giving you the green light.”

Nelson shrugged his shoulders as he smiled at her. “I have spoken to your mom every day since I moved out. Which reminds me, I have a prayer meeting this Wednesday with your mom and her friends.”

Cora burst out in laughter. “What?”

“I’m making frybread, everyone is bringing a dish.” Nelson beams, causing Cora to forget all about the incident that just happened.

“I miss you,” she said, hugging Nelson and closing her eyes as he wrapped his arms around her.

“Now I’m worried about you walking around campus alone. Please stop jogging in the morning alone. It’s not safe anymore. Maybe I can convince Max and Mei to jog with you in the mornings.”

Cora looked up at him. “Why are you doing this?”

“Doing what?”

“Nelson, let’s face it. He’s never going to permit you.”

StoryNest

Nelson softly pushed Cora back. “Baby, I’m not just doing this for you. It’s important for me to have a good relationship with my father-in-law. One day, someone is going to want to marry our daughter. I don’t think I could hand her over willingly. I might be worse than your father.” Nelson laughed.

“I don’t think it’s possible,” Cora steps away from Nelson. She took another step, then gasped in pain.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, grabbing Cora and helping her keep her balance as she grabbed her knee. “Baby, you’re bleeding.”

“I must have skinned my knee when he shoved me on the ground.”

“Get on my back.” Nelson lowers his broad frame to the ground so Cora could climb onto his back.

“Nelson, you don’t have to...”

“You can’t walk. You are hurt,” Nelson Coaxes her to lean on his back. She placed her arms around his neck. Nelson Stood up with ease as he locked his arms around her legs. A smile grew on his face, feeling her body pressed against his back excite him.

He walks carefully as they discuss their situation. Nelson listened as Cora spoke

about the inconsistencies with her father. She believed that what her father was holding against Nelson had nothing to do with them, and it was time for them to make their own choices as adults. Nelson took it all in, thinking of the name Aiyanna Eaglefeather and if she could have something to do with all of this. Nelson carried her inside and placed her on the kitchen counter.

The mansion had a beautiful open-air design. They had entered through a side entrance that remained somewhat hidden from the public, yet designed to make you feel you were still in the woods. The kitchen sat close to the side entrance. A floor-to-ceiling glass wall trailed from the side entrance to the master bedroom located off the Kitchen. Cora sat on the marble countertops as she looked around and admired the intricate Native American designs on the arched ceilings.

“Nelson, this house is beautiful!”

“I’m glad you like it.”

“Whom are you staying here with?” The house seems too grand for him to be there alone.

“Until my wife gets here, no one,” Nelson said, smiling at her.

“Let’s just do it. Let’s elope.”

“Cora, you’re saying that now, but you’re going to want your father and family there.”

“I don’t care.”

“You care. Just be patient.”

“Nelson, you really love me?” Cora said, gently pulling him close to her.

“Of course I love you,” Nelson whispered before kissing her.

“We don’t need his permission.” Cora’s eyes plead with him to hear her out.

Nelson stepped away, walking off to the bathroom to get a first aid kit. He thought about what Cora was saying, missing her, and craving to be with her was becoming unbearable. Nelson was now losing hope of David Pennington ever giving his blessing for him to marry Cora. Nelson grabbed the first aid kit and returned to Cora, who was still sitting on the counter. She wore fitted sweatpants, which displayed her shapely hips. Nelson groaned inside as he admired her body.

“Can you pull your pants up?”

“No, but I can pull them down,” Cora’s voice softened, sending chills up Nelson’s arms.

He took a deep breath. “Okay,” knowing it was going to take all of his willpower to hold himself back.

A valentines to remember

He placed the first aid kit next to Cora. Taking a deep breath, he slipped his fingers under the waist of her sweatpants, slipping it over her round butt as she lifted herself above the countertops. He dragged it down, pausing over her knees until she cried out in pain. Dried blood and skin tissue had wrapped itself around the fibers of the cloth.

“Hold on to my shoulder, and squeeze if you have to,” Nelson said, knowing it would hurt to rip it off.

“No, wait!” Cora said, anticipating the pain.

Nelson paused and looked up at her. Their lips met, and the pain was forgotten. He quickly pulled her pants down. Cora jumped, and Nelson pulled her closer, his kiss becoming more passionate. As he held his hand around the back of the injured knee, sending her soothing vibrations to ease away the remaining pain. He became aroused and slowly leans back. She laughed, hitting Nelson across the shoulder.

“You did that on purpose.”

“Sorry,” Nelson smiles, but his eyes burned, wanting more of Cora.
